The continent on which all we know resides is called The Tallelands. All are bound by the daily chances and gambles that occur in even the simplest of lives. The powerful country of Daethos rests among rocky slopes and mountains with its children beside it. Eneliba's rolling hills and Valiant's organized network of towns sit on either side Spades' crumbling streets. The Lunette Sea arches beside Eneliba, then passes above the dark forests Amorfia and the ancient temples of Kalgara. Past the borders of Daethos is unknown. There are endless dense forests and even more treacherous slopes that lie past its reach. Who would dare to explore beyond the borders of what is known?

amorfia coa

A field of maroon, standing for patience. A stag rampant of white, representing peace; one who will not fight unless provoked.

Landscape:
Amorfia is a small, simple country covered mostly an outgrowth of a dense forest. There few gatherings or towns scattered throughout. Its people do not hold anyone in power or in any position whatsoever. Outsiders are very strongly advised to stay away. Amorfia is bordered on one side by the Lunette Sea.

Climate:
Being near the Sea, Amorifa experiences milder weather throughout the year. Summers are warm and humid, and winters are cool, but rarely dip below freezing. Rain is common especially in the spring months. Beaches are sandy along the shore of the Sea with generally cooler waters. The dense forests are almost tropical in the south of Amorfia.

Residents:
Amorfians are very conservative and do not like change, and a rebellious member is not looked kindly upon. Most foreigners avoid the country and don't trust Amorfians because they are seen more as animals than people; in return, most Amorfians don't trust humans because of how humans generally treat them.  Many Amorfians even blame humans for the Amorfian endangerment, as their race is steadily declining as human interaction increases.

They are a relatively peaceful race who tend to keep to themselves within their country. They do not hold anyone in power or in any position whatsoever.

Capital City: Trosaj
Other Cities: Notelrac

daethos coa

A field of gold and purple, standing for generosity and royal justice. A dracleon rampant of red, representing the courage and valor of a warrior. Fleur-de-lis represent an underlying purity.

Daethos is a powerful country that rules not only its own land, but that of Spades, Eneliba, and Valiant. Because of this heightened power, the position of king has encountered much conflict through the years. One of the most famed struggles was that between Lord Ignarathos and his uncle Lord Benefactos with the now famed transfiguring sword. The country is also home to a large population of gypsies, brought into captivity from their home in Eneliba to be more closely monitored. Daethos is accepting of new technology, as it is generally the first to receive it from other nations before it is passed down to its “children”.

Daethos is the birthplace of Bengal Tyger (Trosaj), and Lord Ignarathos (Trosaj)

Eneliba

Capital City: Almett
Other Cities: Aegis, Llueve, Elwyn

eneliba coa

A field of green, standing for hope and loyalty; divided by twin chevrons, standing for protection. A crow of sable, representing one who is ever watchful of allies, grasping a single gold fleur-de-lis representing purity.

Eneliba is one of three countries under the rule of Daethos. Eneliba does not have a king, but a royal overseer to ensure Daethos' wishes are carried out. Of the three countries under Daethen rule, Eneliba is the most liberal and most accepting of those often outcast by neighboring countries, most notably the mysterious race of Lluevans. Daethos, however, still retains the power to cast away anyone it fears to be planning traitorous acts against it; the captivity of the race of gypsies was one such display of supreme power. Eneliba is bordered on one side by the Lunette Sea.

Eneliba is the birthplace of Athena Harlequin (Aegis), David, Helena, and Tier Dralcon (Elwyn), and Sofia and Mioko Hildari (Llueve).

Kalgara

(CALL-gah-rah)
Capital City: Vishan
Other Cities: Greyce, Ethneas

kalgara

A field of red, standing for a warrior and strength of military; divided per pale with a field of gold, signifying elevation of the mind. A torch, representing intelligence, is crowned with a blue flame, representing truth and zealousness.

Kalgara boasts one of the purest royal bloodlines in the entire region, although it has often been in conflict against the neighboring country of Valiant. Kalgara is home only to its people, the race of Kalgarans. Although a very studios nation, the country is very conservative and is not as accepting of innovations as its neighbors; even the architecture of its buildings are set in ancient styles and building techniques. Kalgara is bordered by the Lunette Sea.

Kalgara is ruled by a single royal family. Generally, the first born son takes the throne when the King dies or passes the throne to him; although, if only a daughter is born to him, the King shall pass the throne to her.  A prince or princess must marry to be considered a king or queen.

Another caste is a class of Elders.  Elders are born into their position, but they must go through a long period of study and training to “come of age.”  They serve as religious leaders, doctors, potionmasters, and a liaison between the common people and the king.

Most young men in Kalgara are trained in weaponry in order to serve as a caste of warriors in times of conflict.  The military is entirely voluntary, and has been known to accept women if they prove themselves to be battle-ready.

Young girls from any class, though most come from families of Elders, can be accepted as a temple maiden at seven years of age. They are not only responsible for its upkeep, but also for aiding others with their offerings and to meditate and pray for the people. They remain completely dedicated to their temple until they reach sixteen years of age, and then they are free to leave as they choose.

The common people of Kalgara are the most numerous, and in relation to neighboring countries, most are well off. Most men take jobs as farmers in the rural areas or work as craftsmen in the city. Women are free to hold whatever job they choose, although most prefer to remain homemakers or textile workers.

Kalgara is the birthplace of Dorian Swift, Collette Wren (Vishan), and Matthew and Huberto Skyles (Greyce).

Spades

(Spaydz)
Father-Country: Daethos
Capital City: Fortanya
Other Cities: Cordis, DeMond, Balti, Velia

spades coa

A field of red, standing for a warrior and strength of military; divided by a chevron, standing for protection. A spade of black, representing dexterity and nimble wit, is crossed by twin swords, representing justice and honor. Fleur-de-lis represent an underlying purity.

Spades is one of three countries under the rule of Daethos. Although Spades has its own king, he merely acts as a glorified overseer who looks to Daethos for absolute kingship. Spades is the only country out of the group to have its own armed forces to keep the peace in the ever-crumbling streets, the Dark Riders. Spades is the bleakest of the three sibling-countries, especially in larger towns like Fortanya, with a stark contrast between rich and poor coupled with an outcropping of drinking, gambling, and other pleasures. Rural and smaller towns are spared of the worst but are still affected to an extent. Spades is also very open to technological innovations, such as electricity; although only the wealthy and top-dollar businesses can afford it.

Aside from a King, Spades hosts a panel of judges who act as a liaison between the King and the people.  Judges are chosen by other judges, who are all from the upper-class society.  It is very rare for a lower-class man to be chosen as a judge.  Other upper-class residents are grandfathered into other positions in the government or take management positions in larger businesses in the well-to-do areas of town.

Dark Riders are chosen from the upper-class to serve as law enforcers.  They are called in such a way because of their dark armor and black horses, as well as their ability to appear when a situation looks bleakest.  Dark Riders originally train as foot soldiers, then they are paired with a horse when they have proven their worth.

Most remedial jobs are worked by the middle- and lower-class.  The middle-class is made up of a small percentage of relatively wealthy people who do not have a position in politics or management.  Lower-class residents often struggle to obtain and retain jobs, leading many down a path of begging, stealing, gambling, or exploitation.

Musicians are often considered a caste in themselves, as even the lowest classes in Spades have a deep respect for music.

Spades is the birthplace of Aurora Gallagher (Cordis), Ace Gallagher (Fortanya), Vance and Steven Edwards (Balti), and Francis and Dawn Aquilla (Velia).

Valiant is one of three countries ruled by Daethos. Of the three, Valiant is the most independent, with only a biased royal overseer to sit in from Daethen throne. Under the rule of a self-proclaimed royal family, Valiant has been pushing the borders of its power for years, struggling for the occupation and control of the neighboring country Kalgara. Its residents feel they are more powerful than Daethos itself, often considering themselves Valian rather than Daethen.

Valiant is the home of Princess Saphrina.

Amorfian

(ah-MOR-fee-an)
Inhabits: Exclusively in Amorfia; very rare exceptions in Eneliba and Spades
Height: Generally tall; average around 5'8”
Appearance: Generally black or very dark hair with very few exceptions. All Amorfians have silver eyes and pale skin.
Traits: Amorfians have the ability to shape-shift into various animals by channeling energy through various pressure points on their wrists, neck, and back. If these pressure points are blocked, an Amorfian cannot transform. Amorfian families are signified by scarred markings on the left side of their face, with each child marked with his or her father's markings.

Race includes Hylas and Raeya

Daethen

(DAY-then)
Inhabits: Primarily Daethos, Spades, and Valiant; also found in Eneliba
Height: A broad range in height and size; the average being around 5'6”
Appearance: A broad range in hair and eye color; the average leaning more to a darker range for hair but a lighter hue for eyes. Skin tends to be light or tan.
Traits: Nothing out of the ordinary for this race; just an average race of humans. A sub-race of gypsies also is included under the Daethen category, with very little difference between them and the Daethens aside from generally darker hair and eye color.

Race includes Ace Gallagher, Vance and Steven Edwards, and Dawn Aquilla

Inhabits: Primarily Eneliba; also very few in Daethos and Spades
Height: Somewhat broad range in height and size, although the average is taller, around 5'9”
Appearance: Generally red-haired with darker eye color. Skin tends to be light or tan. All Lluevens have pointed ears to some degree.
Traits: Lluevens are distinguished mostly by their red hair and pointed ears. The race as slowly lost its purity over time, so only those with longer, pointier ears can be traced back to the bloodline of the ancient Lluevens. Many in this sub-race of ancient Lluevens have begun to take measures in preserving their purer lineage, much like the dwindling Amorfian race.

Race includes Sofia and Mioko Hildari

Kalgaran

(CALL-gah-rahn)
Inhabits: Exclusively in Kalgara; very rare exceptions in Eneliba and Spades
Height: Generally short and stocky; average around 5'
Appearance: Generally dark blue hair and blue eyes, with very rare exceptions. Skin tends to be darker, from tan to brown.
Traits: Kalgarans are recognized by their hair and smaller stature. They are a relatively pure bloodline that is thriving, unlike many races which are losing their purity as well as their numbers. The royal bloodline is one of the purest in the land, possessing a line leading back to the earliest records of Kalgaran history.

Race includes Dorian Swift, Collette Wren, and Matthew and Huberto Skyles.
